Why Biden's Plagiarism Still Matters

Post by ForgivingHeart

As Christians it is our job to forgive this man. So often we are really hard on Dems and turn a blind eye to the poor choices of Reps. Bush has lied to us, sold us out, and totally been dishonest from the start about some of his “questionable decisions. But he is our Pres. so we forgive him. Why not afford the same love to the other side?

We get angry when people bring up our failure as Christians to be humble and respect all others as Christ did. McCain has done some pretty unfavorable things in his past too. But we say well he was a War Hero & forget the other things he did (to his own solider buddies no less).

I’m not here to argue sides because we all fall short on both sides. But we need to be careful about in one article asking our Christian brothers/sisters to forgive as Christ forgave us and then in another being judgmental. This does not show a forgiving heart, in fact it shows hypocrisy. Which we as Christians (or at least I as a Christian) never want to do!

WELCOME!!!!!!

I am so happy you will be posting here. I have been following another writers blogs and it has been disappointing, to say the least. I know it is easy to be critical or "dogmatic". But, the writer doesn't seem to be interested in posting anything scriptural or even quoting the bible. One of his books is, well, this is a short explanation: http://www.heresywatchdog.com/imokyourenot/ I want to hear the truth, even it is painful. I don't want watered-down Christianity. I don't care about being politically correct ~ to the extent that I dilute my faith. I don't want to be overzealous and drive people away either. I believe the bible is the infallible word of God. I'm so pleased you are here. It will be a great pleasure to follow you.

Hey Red,

I just added "music," "movies," and "video games" to the list. Hope you enjoy these topics as well. Spread the word.

I hope to have some lively, thought-filled, CIVILIZED (LoL), God-honoring, biblically-sound, and helpful conversations that will move all of us forward in our understanding of God, scripture, the world around us, and our own hearts.

peace,

It Shouldn't Be This Hard: Challenges to Overcoming Addiction

Post by mckinla65

This article's publication timing is amazing. I just had a binge-eating fest last night, then was awake with heartburn and heartache for much of the night. Thanks for the reminder that I can't do this by myself, and that I need to get back to OA!
God Bless

What a refreshing aspect! You nailed it.

Has there been anything written on the flip side as to "What A Woman Can Bring To A Marriage"?

Grow through Divorce

Post by cluny

doesnt matthew ch 19 verse 9 make an exception for divorce in the case of fornication or sex outside the marriage. Does that part of the scripture not count?

Last Mimzy Stuffed With Conflicting Spiritual Messages

Post by josiah42

The Last Mimzy is a beautifully crafted piece of humanist propaganda. Just watching the movie made me want to discard my old dusty beliefs and embrace a world view with better computer graphics. This movie is a master piece of story telling, symbology, intellectualism, and all powerful all alluring humanism. What I particularly loved about watching this movie was that they seamlessly integrated a very intellectual science feel with spirituality.

For young or gullible people this movie is toxic. I would never let my child watch it. I really wish this was a Christian movie, but it is really not. I'd be very happy if Christian movie makers could produce something of this quality.

In all fairness, the movie's strength is probably it's weakness as well. It's intellectual enough that some people probably don't get it. Some of the concepts are advanced enough only a child would understand, but Mimzy's lessons will stick with a child the rest of their life.

Labyrinth an Adult Fairy Tale Not to Be Missed

Post by josiah42

Do not see this movie. I really regret ever watching it. Whatever dull message it might have is entirely drowned in blood. I started watching this movie and decided to pause it after the captain repeatedly beat a man's nose through his face with a bottle. I decided to check a movie review to see just how much more nose pummeling I'd have to suffer through. I read this stellar review and decided to tough it out. That was a mistake. I'm a 23 year old male who has seen plenty of violent video games and R-rated movies and I was honestly sickened by this movie.

Besides the violence, the movie lacked redeeming qualities. The supposed good faun was an extremely creepy demon. The secondary heroine mutilates a man with a knife. The other 'good' characters were uncompelling and the end was both depressing and disappointing. The movie is ripe material for a couple weeks of sick and twisted nightmares. Just because a movie espouses some kind of morality doesn't make it Christian.
